International Joy

Here is a letter I received recently from Croatia.   Several of my books are published in this beautiful country.   Having the right treatment can change your brain and change your life.

Zagreb, Thursday, January 03, 2008

Dear Dr. Amen and Dr. Thompson,

Let me wish you an  excellent New Year and  blessed Christmas!   Also, I would like to say one great and one BIG thank you for your knowledge and successful effort to help me.   Sincerely and frankly speaking, my trip in California was the best investment in my life.

As Dr. Leonti Thompson said, Provigil (Modafinil) is really a miracle drug. After taking 200 mg for several months, I feel so good, sometimes like in my best period of life, when I was 18 yrs old.

As suggested in books of Dr. Amen, I combine it with low dose of Wellbutrin, to reduce depressive symptoms, social isolation and to enhance friendliness with people.   It works excellent.   Also, as suggested, I take high doses of fish oil, supplements and I ride bicycle at least 50 miles per week.

Yesterday some of my friends told me ““ Roman, we haven’t seen you in so good mood for years, you are again our Old Roman, whom we used to know a lot of years ago.

Thank you and God bless you!

RM, MD, MBA

PS:   Maybe, one day”¦ I’ll visit California again.   Beautiful nature, nice people.

A healthy brain and a healthy lifestyle is associated with a healthy, successful life.   Strive to keep your brain healthy.   Until next time, please know that success starts with a healthy brain.   Failure is often the result of a brain gone wrong.   The good news is that no matter how bad you have been to your brain it is never too late to change your brain and change your life. To your brain health,

Daniel Amen, MD

Agreed with the fish oil, as it has omega 3 and 6 which is great for the brain and depression.

Nice Post.

Thanks.

Dear Dr. Amen, I have read 2 of your books and have been looking for help with my chronic debilitating bouts of depression for 19 years. I am a mother of 2 boys and wife to a very supportive husband. I have tried so many antidepressants. I have had 2 rounds of ECT. One round (11 Treatments) in 1996, and again in 2004. I am currently taking Effexor XR, Trazadone, Lorazipan. I am taking fish oil, magnesium, Theonex, red yeast rice. I have a fatty liver and cholesterol 268. I can barely function from day to day. I lost my job and I cannot afford to go to your DC clinic. I just do not know where to turn any more. I have tried talk counseling and I ma looking to find someone who does EMDR as I had witnessed a traumatic event when I was 21. Please find it in your interest to help me someway.
I think you maybe the only person who can. God Bless, Jean Rath
