Meet Dan, the Amen Clinics weight-loss study’s biggest loser with a total weight loss of 39 pounds in 10 weeks!
When Dan joined our weight-loss study, he weighed 274, rarely exercised, and thought about food all day long. All he really wanted to accomplish from the program was to avoid putting on more weight over the holidays.
(As a side note, we started our weight-loss program on December 1, 2009, and everybody told us we were crazy to conduct a weight-loss study over the holidays. But we wanted to see if our program could stand up to real-life challenges, like holiday feasts and treats.)
Dan took the Change Your Brain, Change Your Body Questionnaire and discovered that he was a Type 1 Compulsive Overeater. With this information, we were able to target a treatment plan and supplements for him.
For Dan, one of the most effective parts of the program was taking our Craving Control supplement. “I just lost the urge to constantly think about food. The refrigerator has stopped calling to me,” he says.
He also found the Change Your Brain, Change Your Body Daily Journal to be extremely helpful. “I have kept journals before but those were just designed to tally calories,” he says. “This Journal is a daily reminder for exercise, quality of food, healthy thinking, sleep, etc.”
During the 10-week program, Dan gained all the tools he will need to keep his weight under control for the rest of his life. “I learned to eat healthy brain foods, get rid of the ANTs (automatic negative thoughts), and meditate so exercise and hunger control become easy,” he says. “I have changed my lifestyle and will reach my ultimate weight-loss goals (which were just dreams).”
Dan is just one of the many success stories from our weight-loss study. We will be profiling other participants in future weeks and we will be checking in with Dan again to see how he is doing on his own.

I would love some information on where to turn when you relate to all 5 of the personality profiles regarding overweight problems.
Is the Craving Control supplement sold in the on-line store?
Thank you,
Barbara
