End Homework Battles Forever!

Are your kids setting the homework rules in your house?

If the answer is yes, welcome to a very large community of parents wrestling with the same challenge every night. But don’t panic, it doesn’t have to be so bleak. There is hope for getting your kids to listen.

Here’s how…

It all starts with your brain.

That’s right. Your brain. After all, your kids don’t do what you say, they do what you do. And this is where your brain comes into the picture.

Simply put, brain-healthy parents raise brain-healthy kids.

In this week’s short video, Dr. Daniel Amen and his wife Tana Amen talk about parenting strategies for raising brain-healthy kids.

Watch the video below and you’ll learn about their personal parenting struggles…and their triumphs, too.

Here are a few practical tips you’ll be able to start using immediately—including how Tana used this technique to end homework battles in her house forever:

  • Engage your frontal lobeThe frontal lobe of your brain is responsible for planning, forethought and judgment. That’s why you must consciously decide what kind of parent you want to be and what kind of child you want to raise. With those decisions in place, the next step is to develop a plan to reach your goals.
  • Be a coach.Clearly communicate to your children the consequences of their actions. Then, let go and allow your children to face the natural consequences of their choices. Don’t rescue them! Instead, be ready to listen and guide them.
  • Raise a Scholar! In a recent study that looked at characteristics of University students at the top of their class, only two commonalities surfaced among those studied. Take a look at the video and you’ll learn how you can easily do these two simple things tonight.

In his book, New Skills for Frazzled Parents, Dr. Amen writes, “Parents are almost always the most influential people in a child’s life. Unfortunately, parents often underestimate their own influence in raising children and teenagers. In many cases, their busy lives prevent them from focusing their energy on raising brain-healthy kids. It’s critical that parents take back their role of being their child’s primary teacher and use their power in a way that positively directs a child’s life.”

You can be the kind of parent you want to be and you can raise brain healthy kids! Amen Clinics has helped thousands of parents and children from all over the world. There is hope!
