Dr. Juntira Laothavorn is a clinical psychiatrist at Amen Clinics Atlanta. Having lived in different parts of the world, Dr. Laothavorn brings her international perspective to her practice. She believes in treating the whole person and addressing all the different aspects of the bio-psycho-social-spiritual components.
She graduated from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA and went on to complete her psychiatry residency at University of Illinois College of Medicine – Peoria. She is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy which she likes to incorporate into her sessions. She has a special interest in addiction, especially behavioral addiction such as internet, gaming and sex addiction.
She especially enjoys working with teenagers and transitional age youth who may have mood and anxiety problems or addictive tendencies.
She is Board Certified in Psychiatry and also specializes in addiction, having completed her Fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP).
