Psychiatrist, Clinical Neuroscience Expert

Dr. Sandlin Lowe is a Neuropsychiatrist and expert in Translational Clinical Neuroscience and Therapeutics. As a former trauma surgeon, he utilizes proven diagnostic and treatment successes which Dr. Daniel Amen, MD, and Amen Clinics are internationally known. He has special interests in anxiety and PTSD in addition to pathophysiological mechanisms in cases of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), cognitive impairment, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, major depression, bipolar and schizophrenia, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Dr. Lowe’s innovative approaches provide new insights into the core pathology of many neuropsychiatric disorders, the search for the etiologies of these Thalamocortical Dysrhythmias, and the design of new treatment protocols. Dr. Lowe incorporates functional brain SPECT neuroimaging and Quantitative Electroencephalography (qEEG) in clinical practice. He is Co-Founder and Director of the Global Alliance for Innovation in Neuroscience, Inc. (GAIN). His prior research contributions have included work with Magnetoencephalography (MEG). Dr. Lowe a recipient of a Congressional Award for his research work at Bellevue Hospital Center at the NYU and Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center. He has previously served on NYU School of Medicine’s Dept of Psychiatry, and Physiology & Neuroscience consulted as a Neuropsychiatrist to NYU School of Medicine Brain Research Laboratories and NYU Langone’s Center for Neuromagnetism. Dr. Lowe completed his medical degree at Tulane University.
