The new clinic features some of the most state-of-the-art technology, including one of the most advanced SPECT machines on the market.

It’s a three-headed gamma camera specially designed for Amen Clinics. It will be faster, quieter, and produce the highest resolution images.

The L.A. clinic will also offer Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). HBOT involves breathing oxygen in a pressurized chamber. The increased oxygen facilitates the brain and body healing process.

“We’re thrilled to be part of the Los Angeles community,” says Dr. Faber.

“I’m also sure that they (Los Angeles residents) are elated that they don’t have to drive in traffic to our Orange County location anymore.”

John A. “Jay” Faber, MD will be the lead psychiatrist in Amen Clinics Los Angeles. He’s a board-certified physician in Metabolic Medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He’s also a clinical and forensic psychiatrist with more than two decades of experience in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry and Pharmacological Management.

  1. I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2008, but I’m starting to wonder just how accurate that diagnosis was.

  4. Hi, this is great news, now more people can be treated with your greatly needed service.

I am a 24 year us military veteran retired with signs of PTSD. I try to mange it, but sometimes things can be hard.

Do you know anyone in Hawaii who can do treatment like your mainland clinics? Or use the SPECT system like the VA? I am 73 years old n don’t travel as much, not even once to Los Vagas.

Could your clinic have helped the veteran in the Napa Valley shooting at the veteran care home? That was a very sad event, to have three caring people n professionals who were trying to veterans in need, taken from us that way.

I helped n showed several veterans, one with 75% n another 100% military disability with six children n two were in dippers, I cared. I was a bridge to some of their success, like keeping the families together, which was a hard thing to do.

I am looking for better results so I can share with others n make a difference. I may want to take some of your courses, if I can qualify. My Dad’s sister is over 100 years old n mind is sharp as a tick. So I have that in my genes.

    Thank you.

  8. I’m 72. I have been wanting to come for spec imaging for years. But driving to orange county from Temecula would be difficult for me. Can you send me a map of where you will be in Los Angeles? I would also like information on cost and when you are actually starting your appointments.

  9. I thought I just had ADD, turns out I had PTSD. They saved my brain if not my life.

    Comment by Deborah Lloyd — April 20, 2018 @ 8:30 AM

  10. I wish I could afford the Amen Clinics. I have had brain problems since birth and they have caused immense problems in every area of my life, including the career and relationship area.

When I was younger, people like me were told that we were “doing it to ourselves.” If we only tried to concentrate harder or think positive thoughts everything would be fine. That did not work.

I hope that one day all insurance, including Medicaid, covers the Amen Clinics method so anyone who needs these treatments can get them.

  15. We spent 14 years with top psychiatrist throwing darts in the dark at my Son. They gave him every Antipsychotic drug in the world. They were just guessing and nothing worked. the problem was they didn’t have any science behind them. We went to Amen clinics and got the scan. He does not have schizophrenia He has a genetic mood disorder in the middle of His brain. The wrong drugs the top doctors gave him for 14 years did not work but made his condition worse. Now that he has the proper diagnosis He is doing 500% better. Pissed at the dam shrinks that have no clue what they were doing. Bullshit actually harming my Son not helping him. Very thankful to the Amen clinic for having the right science to help the brain disorder. It is life changing. Thanks Amen clinics.

  18. Cameron, just curious – did the diagnosis mean that he was prescribed new/different drugs? or otherwise? I had a scan – grateful for it – but still figuring out the myriad of symptoms and how best to manage them. Working with dr. affiliated with clinic which is more affordable. I hope to utilize the new LA clinic because I feel like I need a more comprehensive approach.

  19. My daughter has been diagnosed with ADHD depression anxiety ocd and Asperger’s syndrome (autism) but the ADHD was given in kindergarten, they ignored her autism and anxiety, depression and ocd until she was in 6th grade. Can this help her? She has low self-esteem and low self worth. We need help. Please. No insurance.

  20. Dear Dr. Amen,
I’ve wanted to invite you to open a clinic in Los Angeles for years. I’m so happy you’ll finally be here.

My name is Theresa Lownds. I grew up in San Pedro, Ca. My older sister, Maria Virgason, flew through the
front windshield of a car in 1957 during a car accident. This happened when she was 10 years old, and for the rest of her life, she has suffered from what is now being called Traumatic Brain Injury. The TBI has manifest as schizophrenia, manic, non-stop talk and multiple scandalous sexual fixations. She is now 70 years old. I don’t know if I will ever be able to convince her to come to a clinic because she’s also very paranoid. However, I can’t give up on her. I’d like to know what you recommend.

On my own behalf, I’m a great enthusiast of your work. I’ve read your books and seen your videos. I’m about to celebrate my 69th birthday and feel that this news of your LA office is like an early birthday present. I had an MRI last year at Kaiser because I felt foggy brained, like my brain was full of cotton candy. There were no readings other than ‘normal.’ I just don’t believe it. Again, let me know what you recommend. I look forward to meeting you.

    Respectfully,
    Theresa Lownds

Please advise. Thanks.

Also I need the address of your Atlanta GA location.
