Dr. Elizabeth Asheley Callen is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. She graduated from the United States Military Academy with a minor in Nuclear Engineering, so that almost makes her a rocket scientist. She’s fearless. Ask her about the time she went to war.
She’s also a skilled psychiatrist. During her 20 years of experience, Dr. Callen has provided behavioral healthcare in multiple settings, including emergency, outpatient, inpatient, residential, combat, and school-based care settings. She is knowledgeable in both pharmacologic treatment and psychotherapy techniques, providing personalized care, with a goal of minimizing the use of psychiatric medications. She is especially fond of thoughtfully treating issues related to neurodivergence, gender diversity, and childhood grief.
Dr. Callen appreciates the fragility of life and understands the importance of finding zen in the now. She knows the sting of loss. And so do her four children. She doesn’t mind if you ask about her late husband.
She can shoot a rifle, a bow and arrow, and images on film. Her photography has been featured at the Washington State Fair and at A National Juried Exhibition. Dr. Callen enjoys keeping fit with the Peloton community. Send a high five to TheBlackWidow if you see her on the leaderboard.
She’s so much without being extra, and she can be your psychiatrist too.
