Kendall Dupree, MD | Washington D.C., Metro Area


Dr. Kendall Dupree is a Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist who received her undergraduate degree from Grinnell College in Iowa. She earned her Medical Degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL, where she actively volunteered at the Pilsen Free Clinics in the Latino community. She has training in Emergency Medicine and completed her Psychiatry Residency at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center in New York which is where much of her curiosity about mindfulness meditation was cultivated.

Dr. Dupree has been trained in Ericksonian hypnosis and meditation techniques both of which reinforce the mind and body connection while allowing the locus of control to remain with the individual.

In pursuit of a longstanding interest in what is now known as Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Dr. Dupree trained as a research fellow at Johns Hopkins University where she was awarded the Henry Christian Award for medical research in 2005. Much of her work in omega 3 fatty acids in pancreatic cancer and the use of soy in cognition in post-menopausal women was presented at the annual American Academy of Endocrinology meeting.

Dr. Dupree has worked in both private practice and public psychiatry during her career and has experience in managing a variety of disorders including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD and schizophrenia.

Much of her private time is spent enjoying family and friends, traveling internationally and singing.
