Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist / Addiction Medicine

Dr. Malgorzata Witek is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. She had been practicing in the NY Metropolitan area assuming the role of medical director and staff psychiatrist in many different clinics, programs, and private practice. She graduated from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, completed the adult psychiatry program at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine (Cabrini program), and then completed her child and adolescent residency combined with research fellowship at NYU Medical School. She has over twenty years of experience treating a full spectrum of mental disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. She has extensive experience in outpatient settings, as well as PROS programs. In addition, she has been treating patients with dual diagnoses and substance abuse disorders. In her native country of Poland, Dr. Witek was awarded a master’s degree in bioethics from Cardinal Wyszynski University in Warsaw. She is looking to extend her expertise by combining her experience in behavioral addictions with obesity medicine in order to better treat her patients.

Dr. Witek strongly believes in a holistic approach where evaluating a patient in the context of family, life stress, and genetics is just one aspect of the diagnosis. She seeks a deeper understanding of the complexity of clinical symptoms, including external factors that impact a patient. She carefully weighs psychopharmacology and believes that it needs to be supplemented by additional therapies and measures. It is all wrapped up in bioethics principles, which she believes are core to the healing process and building a strong relationship with the patients.
