Most of us will struggle emotionally at some point in time in our life. It’s a natural part of life. When we suffer or have trouble coping with the many stresses of modern life, it can be debilitating. Dr. Melissa Quinn’s passion is to help people heal, get psychologically well, find the relief they deserve, and help them to become the best version of themselves.
She helps children, adolescents, adults and families get their lives back on track with a whole-person, and when appropriate, whole-family approach. By developing her clients’ inner strengths, she shows them how to reach their highest potential.
Her educational background includes being double board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency and Internship at the University of Southern California. She then went on to complete her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
She knows that people are seeking a range of solutions for prevention, health, and healing. As a result, Dr. Quinn became passionate about learning integrative approaches and was subsequently board-certified in Integrative and Holistic Medicine through The Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine. She later went on to pursue a fellowship in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) through Duke University. TMS is an FDA approved treatment that was originally developed for treatment resistant depression. It’s a medication-free treatment option that is noninvasive and uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain.
She’s inspired continuously by the tremendous growth she sees in her patients. She’s grateful they’ve entrusted her to be a part of their lives. In reflecting on the thousands of interactions she’s had with her patients over the years, she realizes that she is a better doctor and a better person because of these interactions. Her patients’ willingness to let her into their inner world and aspects of their lives typically reserved for loved ones is truly humbling.
She enjoys working with a variety of clients, but she specializes in working with patients with ADHD, developmental and intellectual delays, anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and mood disorders.
In her spare time, Dr. Quinn enjoys an active lifestyle with her family: hiking, spin classes, walking her dogs, cooking, and traveling.
