Natural Supplements/Medication

Overview

In a world where foods are less nutrient-rich and environmental toxins are pervasive, we are often deficient in key vitamins, minerals, nutrients or chemicals that make our minds and bodies work well. Supplementing your diet with high quality, naturally derived nutrients can powerfully promote healing, support bodily functions and boost brain health. In certain circumstances pharmaceutical medication can make positive chemical changes in your body and brain. The Amen Clinics’ pragmatic, informed and careful approach to both nutritional supplementation and prescription medication provides our patients the best of both worlds.

Supplements

Clinical neuroscientist, board certified psychiatrist, and brain imaging expert Dr. Daniel Amen has formulated a natural line of nutritional supplements designed to support brain and body function. As part of your biomedical evaluation, you will discover your own nutrient deficiencies and be recommended a supplement regimen to meet your specific needs.

Medication

At Amen Clinics we take a moderate view of pharmaceutical drugs. We believe that therapeutic lifestyle changes and alternative therapies can have the healthiest, most long-term impact on most conditions of the brain and body; at the same time, we have also seen that some medications – appropriately prescribed and carefully monitored – can truly have a life-changing (and sometimes life-saving) impact on certain conditions of the brain. We support our patients in doing everything they can for their own health, then provide them the additional help they may need through medications.

Amen Clinics has more success with conventional drug treatment for mood and behavior disorders than many other practices because we look at the brains we are treating before prescribing drugs.
