Katyna Rosario, MD

Katyna Rosario, MD is a child and adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who joined Amen Clinics in 2021. She sees children, teens, and adults, and treats a wide range of mental health diagnoses. Dr. Rosario is completely bilingual in Spanish and English and works with patients who speak either language. Dr. Rosario attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine where she earned her medical degree with honors in 2005 and completed her psychiatric residency there in 2009. Following this, she completed her subspecialty training in psychiatric care for children and adolescents in 2013 at the University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Rosario’s expertise includes treating children and adolescent patients who have autism spectrum disorder. As part of her care philosophy, she integrates a wide array of resources for patients—either at our practice or within their communities—to further support them in reaching their goals. When appropriate, she may incorporate art therapy or physical activities such as dance, surf therapy, or yoga or do home and/or schools visits as needed to further assess the patients’ interpersonal and individual behaviors beyond the clinical office setting. Another notable area of Dr. Rosario’s expertise is helping patients manage the mental health challenges of having chronic physical health problems like genetic disorders or diabetes. Her published research includes adolescent mental health in Latino communities and the impact of internet addiction and use of psychiatric services in this population, as well as the beneficial influence clowning has on the mental health of children. Of note, Dr. Rosario is also a professional clown! Dr. Rosario grew up in Puerto Rico and loves spending time at the beach.
