
Kristen Anderson is an Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #142308) and an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #6895). Kristen obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science at San Jose State University, where she also minored in Child Development. For her Master’s, Kristen completed her M.S. in Clinical Psychology with a dual emphasis in both Marriage and Family therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling at Vanguard University.
Kristen is passionate about working with individuals of all ages, seeking support and restoration through life’s struggles. Prior to her work in mental health, Kristen worked in the medical field for over six years as a medical assistant at Care First Pediatrics in Los Gatos, California. She also worked with children, adolescents, and families for over a decade in non-clinical settings by volunteering at summer youth camps, youth programs, Royal Family Kids Camp, and traveling around the world to serve on short term humanitarian service trips with a handful of non-profit organizations.
Kristen has worked at the Amen Clinics in a variety of roles since 2015, first as a Patient Care Coordinator and then as a Patient Outcome Manager. She then began seeing clients for therapy in 2017. Outside of the Amen Clinics, Kristen also has prior experience working with Emmaus Road Christian Counseling from 2018-2019, offering therapeutic services at Calvary Christian School.
Kristen is passionate about working with clients of all ages in a therapeutic setting. She has experience seeing clients with the following presenting issues: Depression, Anxiety, ADD/ADHD, Identity and Self-esteem challenges, Grief, Stress, Relationship challenges, and School challenges. She is also a trauma-informed therapist, and uses her training in EMDR to support clients with a history of trauma. She firmly believes in the Amen Clinic Method and aims to integrate a brain-based approach within therapy, in an effort to help clients understand how to holistically enhance the quality of life from a biological, psychological, social, and spiritual perspective. Kristen is available for appointments Monday through Friday, and her fee is $160 per hour.
