Mayur Makwana, MD

Dr. Makwana is a double-board-certified psychiatrist who believes in an individualized approach to optimizing brain health to help achieve one’s best potential. After graduating from medical school in India, he moved to Delaware where he completed a general psychiatry residency. He served as a chief resident in his final year of residency. He then moved to Arkansas for a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship to explore his interest in early age impact in psychiatry. He received an outstanding fellow educator award for his excellence in clinical and didactic teaching during his fellowship. Dr. Makwana sees clients of all ages with any mental health-related concerns. He views the patient-doctor relationship as a shared decision-making process that will facilitate an individually tailored approach to achieving optimal mental health. He believes in a holistic approach and considers biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of a client’s life to determine the best treatment plan.
