Timothy Heilmann, DO | Atlanta Metro Area

Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Timothy Heilmann’s lifelong passion for health and wellness led him to Brigham Young University for an undergraduate degree in Biology. From there, he attended University of Western States where he received his Doctorate in Chiropractic. During that time, he developed a love for a whole body approach to healthcare. Wanting to expand his scope of practice, to not only prescribe but to take people off of unnecessary medications, he attended Rocky Vista University through an HPSP Scholarship with the US Army and graduated as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014.

He then completed his internship at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. It was during this time that he came to love psychiatry and felt that he was truly helping people. Not only that, he felt that the help he gave others would have a profound affect on his patients and their families for generations. Following a tour as a Flight Surgeon in Savannah, Georgia, he attended the National Capital Consortium Psychiatry Residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He graduated in 2020 and immediately worked in the outpatient clinic and then served as Chief of the Intensive Outpatient Program at Walter Reed until 2023. His medical training and service in the Army took him to many places including time in South Korea serving the Soldiers stationed around the peninsula. After serving as an Active Duty Physician in the US Army, he transferred service into the US Army Reserves and worked at the Charlie Norwood Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Dr. Heilmann is a father of four children of which two have autism along with ADHD and anxiety. This has only furthered his interest and desire to help a wide variety of people. He enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, learning martial arts, making music, and dancing with his wife.
