Dr. Alaidroos is a board-certified psychiatrist at Amen Clinics. She graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, earned her medical degree from Texas A&M University School of Medicine, and trained at Kaiser Permanente’s Southern California adult psychiatry residency.
She has clinical experience treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, survivors of trauma and emotional abuse, eating disorders, personality disorders, and substance use disorders. She also has a particular interest in more medically complex cases- hormonal imbalances, and autoimmune and neurologic conditions that can result in psychiatric manifestations.
Dr. Alaidroos had felt limited by the lack of objective testing and deeper diagnostic workup that is unfortunately common in the field of psychiatry. For this reason, she is a true believer in the approach to mental health pioneered by Dr. Daniel Amen. SPECT images can tell a powerful story.
Patients come to psychiatrists in some of the darkest and most vulnerable times in their lives. Frankly, it can be scary, and some psychiatrists have resigned to the quick 15-minute “are you taking your pills” visits. Her clinical approach is to keep patients at ease through the process– instead of it feeling overly clinical and impersonal– and become a cheerleader and source of support in their lives.
In her free time, Dr. Alaidroos enjoys going to the beach, watching movies, listening to electronic music, and cooking.
