Dr. Jay Gattis is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (CA #19382) with advanced board certifications in Neurofeedback and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Biofeedback through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA), as well as a Quantitative EEG (QEEG) Diplomate certified by the International QEEG Certification Board (IQCB). Since 2021, he has also served as a board member of the IQCB, contributing to the advancement of neurophysiological diagnostic standards.

Dr. Gattis earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University and completed his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology at the Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University in 2001. Following his early clinical work with Meier New Life Clinics, he co-founded a private practice in Costa Mesa in 2004 alongside Drs. Paul Sullivan and Stacey Aoto-Sullivan.

Originally trained in biofeedback and neurofeedback by Dr. John Kelley during his doctoral studies, Dr. Gattis pursued extensive postgraduate training with leading experts in the field, including Siegfried and Sue Othmer, Dr. John Demos, Dr. Richard Soutar, Dr. Tom Brownback, Tom Collura, Dr. Paul Swingle, Dr. Robert Thatcher, Drs. Nicholas Dogris and Tiff Thompson, Drs. Michael and Linda Thompson, Jay Gunkelman (QEEG-D), and Dr. Joel Lubar, among others.

Since 2016, Dr. Gattis has been an integral part of Amen Clinics in Costa Mesa, CA, where he provides psychotherapy, neurofeedback, and QEEG brain mapping services. He is deeply committed to integrative, holistic, brain-inclusive treatment approaches for individuals across all ages and conditions.

Dr. Gattis is also a frequent speaker and educator at national conferences in the field of applied neuroscience and psychophysiology. Recent and upcoming speaking engagements include:
