Dr. Julie Brush is a licensed naturopathic doctor with extensive training in integrative, whole-person healthcare. Her comprehensive evaluations help people to identify and address the root causes of health complaints, allowing them to live their healthiest lives. She treats the person, not the pathology, and tailors her treatments to each unique individual. Dr. Julie Brush earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She has served in a primary care setting with a focus on mental health for more than 15 years in clinical private practices in Oregon and Hawaii. Prior to joining Amen Clinic, she served as the Medical Director of The Exclusive in Hawaii, a holistic addiction and eating disorder residential treatment center.
Dr. Brush has a special interest in addressing hormone imbalances in both men and women, recognizing that hormonal health has a strong impact on brain health. She has helped many patients recover from functional gastrointestinal, adrenal, and thyroid disorders. She works closely with those suffering from complex immune dysfunction, including Lyme disease, chronic viral infections, environmental toxicity such as mold illness and heavy metal toxicity, autoimmune disease, mast cell activation syndrome, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis.
As a NUNM graduate, Dr. Brush has completed extensive medical training in both primary care and naturopathic medicine. She practices under a new paradigm of health care. In this paradigm, you, the patient, are listened to, you are given the tools to achieve optimum health, and you are an active participant in your health care. This is an individualized approach that honors your unique history. The naturopathic approach seeks to identify and treat the cause of disease, and to empower the patient with information and tools to achieve optimal health. She is an active member of the California Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Psychiatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She volunteers her time to support the Change Your Brain Foundation to provide innovative mental health/brain health services for people who cannot afford it.
