Luke Brewton, MD

Dr. Brewton is Board Certified in both Child & Adolescent Psychiatry as well as General Psychiatry. He earned his undergraduate degree from New York University, graduating cum laude with a degree in Neural Science and a Minor in Chemistry. Dr. Brewton went on to earn his Medical Degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston Texas. Subsequent postgraduate training was completed at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque with a three-year Residency in General Psychiatry followed by a two-year Fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry where Dr. Brewton was the Chief Fellow for his final year from 2010 to 2011. Dr. Brewton has a variety of previous professional experiences including his initial professional position as an Outpatient Child Psychiatrist as well as staffing an Adult Inpatient unit in Eugene Oregon with PeaceHealth from 2011 to 2015. Subsequent to that, Dr. Brewton managed an Outpatient Psychiatric practice in Bellevue, Washington for two years before relocating to Boise, Idaho. While in Boise, Idaho, Dr. Brewton spent five years working for St. Luke’s providing both outpatient child and adolescent behavioral health services and serving as Medical Director for St. Luke’s adolescent day treatment center. Dr. Brewton has a background in research and while completing undergraduate work at NYU worked in a laboratory of molecular neuroplasticity, studying the serotonin system and neuronal apoptosis. His honors include receiving the Truman G. Blocker research scholarship from UTMB as well as the William Todd Midget Memorial scholarship from UTMB. Dr. Brewton has been recognized in the publication of Eugene Magazine Top Doctors in the fall of 2013. Dr. Brewton was selected by the International Association of HealthCare Professionals as a Top Doctor in Bellevue, Washington in August of 2016. More recently, Dr. Brewton has been included in the publication of Marquis Who’s Who for recognition of his dedicated career as a Child Psychiatrist. Dr. Brewton has two overarching passions in life and those are providing superior psychiatric care to children, adolescents and their families and raising his family of three daughters with his wife in Boise, Idaho. Dr. Brewton has a musical family and his three daughters enjoy writing and recording music as Sisters Brewton.
