If there is a gap between where you are now and where you want to be, you can benefit from the support of an Amen Clinics coach. Just as an Olympic athlete needs the support of a specialized coach, our professional coaches help you identify and achieve the goals that are important to you.
An Amen Clinics coach works with you to identify and work through obstacles, fears and perceived limitations for making positive changes in your life. Your coach will help you develop new skills and strategies for attaining your goals and provide you with a structure of positive support and encouragement while teaching you to stay accountable to yourself.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COACHING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY
While the focus of psychotherapy is on the causes and treatment of dysfunction related to mental health and issues from the past, coaching is focused on making lifestyle changes in the present and goal setting for the future. Most Amen Clinics coaching clients are generally healthy people who want to make changes in their lives and want the support of their own personal coach to help them achieve more in less time.
Some examples of the types of things Amen Clinics coaching clients work on include:
- Developing strategies to more successfully implement the recommendations made by their Amen Clinics physician
- Finding a healthier work-life balance
- Building and maintaining healthy relationships
- Getting unstuck
- Making an important life transition or achieving short-term objectives
- Creating a more fulfilling and meaningful life
- Implementing a plan that serves their family’s long-term health
- Building more play, fun, and adventure into their lives
- And much, much more…
HOW COACHING WORKS
The synergy between an Amen Clinics coach and her or his clients creates momentum and enthusiasm by providing you with positive support, feedback, tools, and encouragement. Your autonomy is always respected, and while your coach might challenge you to think differently or suggest that you try a different or even more radical approach to something than you normally would, you must decide whether or not to take the advice. Our coaches do not, in any way, try to control a client’s thoughts, actions or life.
FREQUENCY OF COACHING SESSIONS
Coaching typically works best with a weekly call so clients have time to integrate new ways of thinking and behaving in between sessions. Most Amen Clinics coaching is done by phone or video conference in half-hour to one-hour coaching appointments. The experience is challenging and uplifting. You’ll look forward to your weekly calls with your coach.
