Can Music Help You Feel Better Fast?

Blog- FBF Music CD-Mood-Sleep-Can Music Help You Feel Better Fast

With its diversity of dynamics, rhythms and styles, music truly is the universal language. But did you know that some forms of music are better for the brain than others?

There’s an old computer science term GIGO, which stands for “garbage in, garbage out.” Just like watching violent movies or playing gory video games can feed your brain with harmful images, listening to music inundated with vulgarities or references to drugs, rape or murder can fill your brain with unhealthy thoughts.

Aside from content, music with a slower tempo (typically between 60-80 bpm) is healthier, and less stressful, for the brain than more aggressive and upbeat styles, like hard rock or heavy metal (which, on average, can range from 120 to well over 200 bpm). Most popular songs range between 115 and 120 bpm.

With an abundance of genres to choose from, musical taste is very subjective. So then, is there one variety of music that everyone can enjoy? And is there one type of music that’s good for everyone?

Brain Healthy Music

Research has suggested that listening to certain kinds of music can enhance your mood and focus, lower your blood pressure and stress, and improve your sleep.

Since music is so important and can make such a significant difference in your brain health and life, we’re proud to offer the “Feel Better Fast and Make It Last” music program. This album was designed by Daniel G. Amen, MD and bestselling author and composer Barry Goldstein, whose award-winning productions have been used with rock icons, New York Times bestselling authors, motivational leaders, and medical experts throughout the world for over 25 years!

The “Feel Better Fast and Make It Last” program applies scientific research and groundbreaking music that utilizes specific frequencies, sound waves, harmonics, tones, and chords that may elevate your mood and focus. In addition, it can take you on a transformational journey to a deep state of relaxation and can improve your sleep.

Each of the four musical selections range between 10 – 30 minutes in length, which will allow you enough time to relax and synchronize yourself to the optimal brain wave state. Listen to these calming tracks throughout the day or use them in the evening to bridge your busy day into restful nights. This proprietary program can be enjoyed with or without headphones.

  3. Listened to samples on Amazon, all 4 pieces. Was disappointed as I found them over powering even when run volume turned down. Did not feel relaxing or able to focus with the high pitch. Must be just me? Where can I find something more peaceful?

  4. I am a 71 yr old female with incomplete Lupus or SLE according to a 2nd opinion. I had Severe Post Partum Psychosis which began 2 weeks after the birth of my 2 daughters. I continue to have Depression and SAD with impulse control Disorder. I certainly whish your method of treatment using Spec to Image the Brain to determine your plan of care. I feel my life could have been much better if technology and Psychiatry had been better able to determine specific Diseases and their Treatment. Sincerely Yours Sandra Chai LPN
